Yavor Genov is recognized as one of the prominent lutenists of his generation. His three solo CD’s – “Orpheus Anglorum” (2018), “Zamboni – lute music” (2014) and “Kapsberger – Libro primo di lauto” (2013) have received international critical acclaim.
Yavor shares a stage with musicians like Dame Emma Kirkby, Núria Rial, Andrew Lawrence-King, Lars Ulrik Mortensen, Teodor Currentzis. He performs with ensembles and orchestras like MusicAeterna, Valetta International Baroque Ensemble, EUBO, Cordevento among others at some of the most important European concert halls and opera houses.
Yavor has studied early plucked instruments and basso continuo with Jakob Lindberg.
He works also as a musicologist in the field of the Renaissance lute repertory and Latin chant. He is an author of one book and number of publications.
